After a one-year break, the time had finally come again: The Tölzer autumn market took place last Sunday and Monday in the well-frequented Marktstrasse.

Bad Tölz

- Numerous stands with a wide variety of goods attracted many visitors.

The booth operators were satisfied on the second day of the market.

“The buying mood was good,” says Sebastian Schöning from Schliersee, who sold jewelry he had made himself at his stand.

Not only did the weather play a role, but also the Sunday shopping event attracted numerous visitors.

"That was a sensible thing."

Actually he would have been represented at the arts and crafts market in Bad Tölz this year. However, this failed due to the corona. “The arts and crafts market is actually more suitable for me,” says Schöning, referring to his range of goods. He therefore hopes that the handicraft market can take place again next spring. A start has already been made with the autumn market, which has got off to a good start.

Barbara Richter can also usually be found at the craft market with her scarves and seat cushions, and this year she had to go to the autumn market.

"The sales are different there," says the stall owner from Chiemgau.

Overall, higher-priced items would be offered there, and more customers would come from outside.

Nevertheless, Richter is satisfied with her record.

“It went great for a normal market,” she said.

Overall, in their opinion, the autumn market was well received.

"There is actually nothing that can be improved."

Sunday shopping as a customer magnet

The first time at the Tölz autumn market was Cordula Eckl from Munich this year. Their stand was a meeting point for lovers of roasted almonds and cotton candy. "We were happy that we could be there," says Eckl. She took over the representation of Heino Steinker, who is usually at the place.

“We were shocked that it went so well,” says Eckl with a smile. The people behaved in an exemplary manner and waited decently despite the long queues. The Sunday shopping also acted as a customer magnet. “I don't think the surrounding shops can complain either,” says the stand owner. On Monday, Eckl estimated in the morning, sales would probably not be as strong. Experience has shown that the weekend is stronger. "Most of the children are in school, but a little something will be going on."

Michael Anzinger from Valley near Holzkirchen, who sells bacon and cheese at his stand, also draws a consistently positive balance.

"People appreciate it a lot more and are more grateful than before Corona," said Anzinger.

Customers no longer take the autumn market for granted after many other markets had to be canceled due to the pandemic.

"The need is definitely there." (Franziska Selter)
