Kranzberg

- A lot has

happened

at the Kranzberg Voluntary Fire Brigade: At the annual general meeting, the board of directors of the fire brigade association changed in the most important positions.

But it also showed that the past year and a half have survived well.

For private and professional reasons, the previous 1st chairman Martin Hübler and 2nd chairman Matthias Maier have moved away.

They were therefore no longer available for election, as was secretary Agnes Baumgartner.

The fire brigade association had prepared well and presented new officials with the 1st chairman Christian Brand and the 2nd chairman Michael Stolper.

Both were elected unanimously in a written vote.

Treasurer Florian Sander continues, Robert Märkl inherited secretary Agnes Baumgartner.

Commander Erich Frank drew a reasonably positive conclusion after the difficult year 2020.

"In active duty, Corona passed us by without a trace," said the boss of the 40-strong team.

Although you were not allowed to practice over long distances, you were at the usual level with 25 to 30 assignments per year.

The active team worked a total of 1,100 hours last year.

The increase in the troop was encouraging, as one departure faced two newcomers and four active players who had risen from their own youth.

The balance sheet showed the high value of youth work, which this year is starting up again at the usual level.

In 2020, because of the lockdowns, young people worked just 187 hours: that was a long way from the normally around 1000 hours.

Small backlog of honors

After the pandemic, the Kranzberg fire brigade then had to process a small backlog of honors. At the top, at the age of 50, was Matthias Ankner, who was honored in absentia. Guido Ankner, Erich Frank, Leonhard Kalhofer and Ferdinand Rottenfusser have been a member for 40 years. The new chairman Christian Brand, Werner Kroboth, Johann Lachner, Rudolf Maier and Martin Oberprieler were thanked for 30 years. Gerhard Baierl (20 years old), Agnes Baumgartner, Benedikt Kohlmaier, Michael Kerschl, Kilian Neufeld and Maximilian Rottenfußer (every ten years) were also honored.

Mayor Hermann Hammerl thanked those active and emphasized that dramatic events such as the flood in the Ahr valley or, most recently, the supermarket fire in Allershausen showed how indispensable good fire brigades are.

The community can only provide good equipment, but a good team is essential.

That is exactly what the community of Kranzberg has.
