After the Corona-related quiet start to carnival last year, the carnival clubs in the Ebersberg district are more optimistic this time.

District - Put on your red noses and load the confetti cannons!

The carnival clubs in the district want to start again.

All three domestic board members are optimistic that the start of Mardi Gras can be celebrated again on November 11th from 11.11 a.m. - provided the pandemic measures remain as before.

Because of the Corona measures, it was very quiet in the district at the beginning of the 2020 carnival season.

"Last year we did a little something, but not in public, just us and the community with masks and distance," recalls Klaus Neugebauer, Chairman of the Markt Schwabener Faschingsverein Falkonia.

At that time, they had hung the town hall key on the crane on the adjacent construction site.

“It had to be a bit of nonsense,” says Neugebauer and laughs.

Carnival start on November 11th: Markt Schwabens Falkonia is planning a stand on the market square

This year, at the beginning of Carnival, Falkonia is planning a public stand under the pavilion on the market square.

Mulled wine and beer are to be served and Mayor Michael Stolze traditionally presents the association with the carnival key, according to Neugebauer's rough plan.

In addition, the newly elected board of directors should appear there.

Since the weekly market takes place on Thursday morning at the same time, Neugebauer relies on inquisitive spontaneous visitors: “Markt Schwaben has never been the carnival stronghold, but we hope that a few people will come together,” he says.

Grafinger carnival bears want to be optimistic: "We are based on the clubs"

Felix Pollinger, chairman of the Grafinger Faschingsbären, could also imagine a prelude in his community: “We are guided by the clubs.

If there can be celebrations again, then carnival celebrations should also be possible, ”he says.

Admittedly, there is still a need to agree with the municipal administration, but in principle he could imagine a stand with a champagne bar on the market square.

Last season the association organized the “Carnival Bear Walk” as an alternative to real events.

A kind of scavenger hunt through Grafing and the club's history.

Carnival start in the district: Ebersberger Faschingsverein

The Ebersberg carnival club, on the other hand, is a little more indecisive: “At least nothing has been canceled so far,” says board member Robert Gockner.

But nothing has been prepared so far.

The association would like to wait for the next board meeting week until more details can be said.

The reason for this is the constantly changing hygiene protection measures.

Planning events is currently a "vague story," he says.

Having to check everyone on 3G during a carnival parade with 2000 people is an impossibility for clubs, he explains,

Clubs make the carnival tapping dependent on Corona regulations - and dare to make further plans

If the requirements change by November, however, according to Gockner, they can react quickly and spontaneously: "If it is possible, carnival will definitely take place", according to the board of directors.

The changing Corona requirements are also causing headaches for the other clubs: "You just don't want to put any work into it if it doesn't work out in the short term," summarizes Neugebauer.

With the current measures, nothing stands in the way of the tapping and other events such as children's carnival or carnival balls, the three board members agree.

And there is definitely a desire to celebrate, says Neugebauer: "It's time, it just has to go on again."
