Seeing the police in Saint-Christophe, the young man had fled and abandoned a plastic bag containing 23 canisters of coke

Spotted in the street, arrested and sentenced: the police and the judiciary wereted no time in imprisoning in the Val-d'Oise remand center a young man from Cergy-Saint-Christophe who had just got rid of canisters of cocaine.

Aged 22, he was sentenced to one year in prison by the criminal court, in immediate appearance, and placed under a committal warrant.

The police patrol which crisscrossed on Wednesday near the RER station in Cergy-Saint-Christophe had immediately recognized him in the path of the Surprise.

It must be said that the police officers of the Cergy police station regularly deal with this young person, in particular for narcotics cases.

On the day of the events, upon discovering the presence of officials, he fled on foot and got rid of a plastic bag.

If the young man had managed to escape, the bag had been seized by the police.

It contained 23 canisters of cocaine probably intended for sale.

He assures us that the bag did not belong to him

Given the personality of the suspect, immediately identified, the investigators of the departmental security of Val-d'Oise were seized of the case. Quickly arrested, he was taken into custody. He allegedly disputed any connection with the plastic bag and the cocaine it contained. On the instruction of the Pontoise public prosecutor's office, he was referred Friday for immediate appearance, at the end of his prolonged police custody. The search carried out at his home did not allow any additional information to be collected.

This well-conducted case illustrates the priority given to the fight against drug trafficking by the Pontoise prosecutor, Bernard Sennès.

During his installation at the head of the prosecution, he had claimed a global approach consisting "of targeting not only the heads or the organizers of the traffic, but also all the links in the resale chain, from intermediaries to the street dealer.

"He had also announced his intention to develop" flash investigations "alongside long-term investigations," to obtain rapid results and an immediate criminal response ", such as the one conducted in Saint-Christophe.
