The restoration and rehabilitation work of the Zabadani Health Center, which is being carried out by the General Company for Building and Development, is accelerating in response to the needs of the people of the region for its health services, according to those in charge of the work.

Re-starting the implementation of the project began two months ago, after the work of the contract concluded in 2018 was suspended due to many financial reasons, according to the project manager, Engineer Saleh Ahmed, who explained that based on the urgent need for the clinic and the services it provides to the people of the area, the pace of work is accelerating in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

According to Ahmed, the restoration work included 80 percent of the health center that was destroyed as a result of the terrorist attacks that affected it, with a contract value of 65 million pounds, to later rise to 300 million pounds as a result of the high prices, pointing out that, to date, nearly 95 percent of the works have been completed to be completed during the coming period. From the work of installing fixtures, painting and final finishes.

The clinic consists of two ground floors and contains four clinics, including a health clinic for pregnant women and drug stores, while the second includes a dental clinic, vaccine clinics, a pharmacy and a laboratory.

Regarding the difficulties encountered in the work, Ahmed explained that they are represented by the lack of electricity and water in the area and the difficulty of securing fuel, in addition to the lack of funding at first.

The head of the workshops, Hammam al-Labwani, stated that the rehabilitation and restoration works began two months ago, including sanitary works, tiles, electricity, clay, aluminum and doors, to complete within a short period the largest percentage of the required works.

Al-Labwani indicated that the work will be completed on time despite the difficulties, including the lack of manpower, and the walls and some finishes are currently being painted for other work.
