The subject of corona vaccination divides society like hardly any other topic.

The Bavarian National Association for Homeland Care explains what potential is developing here.

Vaccinated versus non-vaccinated: The Bavarian State Association for Homeland Care sees social peace in great danger due to Corona *.

"A deep rift has developed between those who refuse to vaccinate and those who have been vaccinated, which unfortunately makes itself felt on many levels," explains chairman Olaf Heinrich (CSU), who is also mayor of the city of Freyung in the Bavarian Forest * and district council president of Lower Bavaria.

Corona protection and anti-vaccination: two views collide

Vaccination opponents are often corona deniers.

The arguments between them and those who have been vaccinated have "terrifying effects" on social coexistence.

Heinrich: "It starts with clubs and companies and has an effect on school lessons and even on families."

The managing director of the association, Rudolf Neumaier, warns: "The rift finds the ideal breeding ground in social media, and action must be taken there against it so that it does not overgrow all other positions." Neumaier reports the drastic effects:

  • Brass bands are threatened in their continued existence because individual musicians refuse to be vaccinated *.

  • Decades of friendship are shattered by the overheated irreconcilability of views.

  • Football teams lose teammates who would rather do without indoor training than get vaccinated.

  • The operational readiness of the voluntary fire brigades is limited because individual members are not vaccinated and do not want to be tested and therefore cannot take part in operations.

  • Vaccinated and unvaccinated students bully and verbally attack each other.

  • A mother who secretly had herself vaccinated hides her vaccination card from her daughter to avoid arguments.

Corona in Bavaria: Division and the long-term consequences for society

Heinrich: “Everyone can tell stories like this by now.

So far, they have happened below the public perception threshold, but in the long term they have dangerous consequences for our society. ”What to do?

The regional association encourages a broad alliance of associations and clubs.

This alliance should, among other things, get involved in a common fight against the pandemic and for vaccinations via social media.

According to Neumeier, politics, which is currently very preoccupied with itself, can hardly generate the necessary awareness among the population on its own.

Neumeier: "We have to arouse a feeling of solidarity in order to counteract misrepresentations and scare tactics with rational arguments *."

She only barely survived Corona, but she still does not want to be vaccinated.

Situations like this with a woman from Bavaria are increasingly frustrating doctors and nurses.
