Czech parliamentarian: The European Union suppresses the freedoms of its citizens and turns into an authoritarian entity

Deputy Speaker of the Czech House of Representatives and Chairman of the Movement for Freedom and Direct Democracy Tomio Okamura confirmed that the European Union suppresses the freedoms and sovereignty of its citizens and has turned into an authoritarian entity.

In a comment posted on his Facebook page, Okamura explained that the Freedom and Democracy Movement insists on organizing a referendum in the Czech Republic regarding its withdrawal from the union to return as a sovereign country.

In turn, a member of the Czech House of Representatives, Pavel Jelinek, stressed that the European Union clearly undermines the sovereignty of the Czech Republic and reduces its powers as an independent state, calling for withdrawal from the union if the Czechs want their country to be free, prosperous and self-sufficient.

In an interview with Parliamentary Papers, Jelinek added that the Czech Republic should withdraw from the union and achieve self-sufficiency in the fields of energy, food, industry and raw materials.
