For double security: Allershausen equips school with air purification devices

The technology is "pleasantly quiet", rave teachers and students.

In addition, they meet all the requirements for receiving grants - the air purification devices in the Allershausen school.

- The big delivery for everyone's health has arrived at the elementary and middle school in Allershausen. The installation of the air purification devices was a cause for joy for teachers, parents and the community. For this, the municipality takes 122,000 euros in hand. Mayor Martin Vaas was proud that, together with the local company "Membrane_Experts", the devices could be purchased promptly without a delivery time of months: As the Bavarian sales partner of the manufacturer UVC Clean from Owen / Teck, the company received the order for 94 air purification devices from the Allershausen community at school. Vaas emphasized that they now have the equipment that meets all legal requirements and thus complies with the grant guidelines.

In the first few hours of use, teachers and students noticed that the air cleaning technology was pleasantly quiet. “We are all very happy,” said headmaster Georg Riedel, “because the devices complete our hygiene concept. The parents are also happy. It's nice that the municipality acted so quickly. ”A busy project also ended for Martin Vaas. "In the beginning there were no devices for the grant guidelines that met all the requirements," said the mayor. Too loud devices were not the problem, but the throughput. Organic particles have to be filtered out of the air to 99.5 percent with the devices. Xaver Kollmer, Managing Director of Membrane_Experts, referred to an extremely high efficiency rate of 99.9 percent for the technology used in Allershausen.

In the classrooms, three to four devices are set up on the walls opposite the windows, which are part of the air circulation in the room.

Kollmer made it clear that incorrect positioning was just as useful as an insufficient number of devices.

“We didn't want to buy anything that was lying around for the next few years,” said Martin Vaas, who can contrast the higher acquisition costs with lower maintenance costs.

The local entrepreneur confirmed to him that the devices still make sense after the corona pandemic: "In companies, the sick days of employees with the use of air purification devices have decreased by around ten percent." In Allershausen, the technology should also help the children after Corona get sick less.

On the part of the parents, the Allershausen mother Tanja Göbel-Nowak was on site for the commissioning.

"If you familiarize yourself with the subject, you quickly see that ventilation alone is not enough," said the woman, who advocates the use of ventilation devices in as many schools in the district as possible.

Ventilation and technology together, she says, are comparable to double safety for every driver: "You also use the seat belt and the airbag."
