Basically, there was already agreement in the district environmental committee a year ago.
But the new bus line 448 was initially slowed down - difficult budget situation due to Corona.
But now the green light.
Ebersberg / Grafing - The tendering process should start this year.
"The situation has not changed," said Sebastian Hallmann, responsible for local public transport in the district office, now on the committee.
The offer could cost the district around 300,000 euros per year.
Ticket income already offset.
Costs for the district around 300,000 euros
Two buses running in opposite directions are planned, one from Grafing train station on a west loop via Nettelkofen, Seeschneid and Egglburg to Ebersberg, the other counterclockwise from Grafing train station via Schammach, Grafing, Gasteig, Traxl, Rinding, Oberndorf and Langwied to, among others Ebersberg.
During operating hours, there should be a departure from Grafing train station to the district town every half hour, once on the west route and once on the east route.
The journey on the shorter route in the west should take around 17 minutes, on the longer route in the east around 25 minutes.
New connections
The new line is initially about a better connection of all southern district communities to the district town of Ebersberg. The Ebersberg district clinic should also be visited regularly. Another point: the inner-city development of other districts in Grafing and Ebersberg by public transport. One aspect of the planning was also the development of districts and places that were previously not or hardly connected, such as Oberndorf, Rinding, the sports facilities in Grafing with ice rink and outdoor pool, Hesselfurt or Schammach. The way to Grafing-Bahnhof should also become easier, with a view to the opening of the planned vocational school. District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU) mentioned another positive aspect at the meeting: The new bus line offers an addition between Ebersberg and Grafing station in the event of disruptions in the S-Bahn.
Alternative for S-Bahn disruption
According to MVV estimates, the operating costs of the new line are between 535,000 and 595,000 euros per year.
The cost recovery rate of public transport in the district is around 50 percent.
In other words: around half of the costs are covered by income.
That left around 300,000 euros for the new line.
Line 448 could go into operation when the timetable changes on December 10, 2023.
