Manchester City defender Benjamin Mandy's request to be released on bail from his detention was rejected for the third time while he is awaiting trial on four charges of rape and sexual assault.
The Frenchman was charged on August 26 with the alleged assault of three different women between October 2020 and August 2021 and his previous request for bail was denied in early September.
Mandy was already suspended with the publication of his arrest by Citi until the end of the investigation.
A statement issued by City following Mandy's arrest read: "Manchester City can confirm that following his arrest by the police, Benjamin Mandy was suspended until the end of the proceedings, the matter is subject to legal proceedings and therefore the club can no longer respond until the process is complete."
Mandy joined City from Monaco in 2017 and made 75 appearances for the club.
After opening with a loss to Tottenham in the first round, he came on as a substitute in the big win over Norwich in the second round and has not played in the Blue uniform since.
