Fractions unloaded: SPD district parliamentary group criticizes the "Grünten" round table

Oberallgäu - The district parliament groups of the SPD and the BBOA criticize the implementation of the Grünten Round Table. And thus also to the district administrator.

Oberallgäu - The district parliament groups of the SPD and the BBOA criticize the implementation of the Grünten Round Table.

And thus also to the district administrator.

Contrary to the original plans, no representatives of the district parliamentary groups were invited to the Grünten Round Table, complain the Oberallgäu SPD and the Oberallgäu BBOA.

District Administrator Baier-Müller sees no "political decision on the buildings on the Grünten", the SPD quotes in its statement.

The political groups disagree with this view.

The fact that the district assembly groups were invited to this important project with a supraregional impact testified to a lack of respect for the members of the district assembly.

"Just because the district administrator has once again given her" not responsible "and declares the project to be a purely administrative act, the project still has political dimensions," said Markus Kubatschka, chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

"Politics in the back room"

“Politics in the back room has never led to widespread acceptance.

The exclusion of the elected groups is equivalent to the exclusion of the Oberallgäu citizens, ”adds District Councilor Josef Dornach from the Oberallgäu citizens' alliance.

That the planned expansion on the Grünten with a new route and multi-storey car park would not concern the district council, just because a change to the landscape protection area ordinance is no longer necessary, may only be correct if the project is viewed as detached from its surroundings, the argument goes on.

Rettenbergers want a bypass

Two main routes led to the enlarged ski area: one from the north through Sulzberg via Vorderburg and one from the east via the so-called Goymooskreisel through Rettenberg.

Since the residents of Rettenberg were already complaining about the excessive traffic and demanding a bypass, the expansion on the Grünten would "certainly entail high costs for the district".

“The multi-storey car park with the ski area will inevitably attract more traffic.

The district will then have to pay for the Rettenberg bypass, which will certainly be more vehemently demanded.

So the district council has to deal with the project and its consequences, ”says Markus Kubatschka.

“Sulzberg may even have to be bypassed,” adds Vera Huschka.

Impending surface sealing

District councilor Gerhard Wimmer, as a member of the building committee, pointed out that district roads in need of renovation are not simply given a new asphalt surface, but are usually carried out as a “major expansion”, just because there is higher funding for them.

"It is to be feared that a large area will be sealed again here and that a lot of traffic will be drawn to Rettenberg."

In an earlier press release, the SPD had already criticized the lack of connection between the ski area and public transport and the new route (we reported).
