Bundesliga soccer team Hertha BSC and managing director Carsten Schmidt have agreed to terminate the contract.
The club announced on Tuesday.
The “Tagesspiegel” had previously reported that Schmidt was leaving the club after less than a year for personal reasons.
According to Hertha, sports director Fredi Bobic and finance director Ingo Schiller will take over the duties of the 58-year-old.
Berlin - joined the Bundesliga club in December 2020.
“There are only indissoluble private reasons due to illness in my immediate family environment that prompted me to take this step.
Working for Hertha BSC has always given me great pleasure ”, Schmidt was quoted in the message.
