Belgrade-Sana
The high-level meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade, with the participation of Syria, condemned the unilateral coercive measures imposed by Western countries on some of the movement's countries.
In their final statement today, the meeting participants called on Western countries to undo these illegal measures and not to continue imposing them as they harm the peoples of developing countries and prevent them from exercising their right to development.
The statement prepared by Azerbaijan in its capacity as the leader of the movement affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to decide their future and build their independent state on their land and condemn the Israeli practices against them.
The statement called for the equality of all countries in the right to receive the vaccine against the "Covid 19" epidemic, and the non-discrimination between rich and poor countries to the detriment of the comprehensive response to this pandemic.
Representatives of 120 member countries and guests of the movement participated in the movement’s high-level meeting on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of its founding, whose statements affirmed adherence to the principles of the movement, especially respect for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, and non-use or threat of force in international relations.
Syria was represented in the meeting by a delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Miqdad.
