Huge project in the south of Munich is in the room: Costs in the millions?

Things could soon be going round in Munich's southwest - in the truest sense of the word. Several wind turbines are conceivable along the A95.

Things could soon be going round in Munich's southwest - in the truest sense of the word.

Several wind turbines are conceivable along the A95.

Munich - It could be a kind of trellis made of wind turbines: five large rotors along the A95 motorway in Forstenrieder Park, each around 240 meters high.

This plan, which should ultimately ensure more clean electricity, has now been presented by an expert in the local district committee in the south of Munich.

Is it going to be around in Forstenrieder Park soon?

Peter Beermann, energy consultant and managing director of Energiesysteme GmbH in Solln *, is already advising the two communities -Pullach and Neuried, which are also affected by the project.

You had applied for the establishment of a working group for wind energy Forstenrieder Park.

So Beermann presented the state of affairs to District Committee 19 (Thalkirchen - Obersendling - Forstenried - Fürstenried - Solln).

Several wind turbines?

In Forstenrieder Park there is enough space for the 10-H rule

The expert explains: "In Forstenrieder Park there is an area along the motorway within which the Bavarian 10-H regulation is complied with." The consortium will concentrate on this area.

The 10-H rule means that the distance between a wind turbine and the next residential area must be more than ten times the height of the system.

Five wind turbines are currently being considered for the Bannwald in the south of Munich - they should be around 240 meters high.

The distance should therefore be 2.4 kilometers.

This is possible in Forstenrieder Park. After all, it has a total area of 37.08 square kilometers.

The Bund Naturschutz sees wind turbines in the forest as a more critical and emergency nail.

"We are therefore in favor of the abolition of the 10-H rule," says Annemarieräder, the Upper Bavarian regional officer.

In the case of wind turbines in a protected forest, the decision is always made on a case-by-case basis.

Munich: Costs for mega-projects so far only speculation

But there is good news for conservationists.

"The species protection issues are examined intensively by means of expert reports," said Beermann.

This is time-consuming and will probably take at least the whole of the coming year.

The forest that is broken or lost must be reforested and supplemented at the edge of the forest.

"Climate protection is species protection."

The use?

"Roughly speaking, a modern inland-optimized wind turbine can supply around 3,000 to 3,500 households with electricity," says Beermann.

The expert does not want to speculate about the costs.

Similar projects (see below) show, however, that several million euros will be due.

However, after twelve years at the latest, the costs should be balanced.

These projects are still planned around Munich

"We want to create the energy transition," says Annemarieräder from the Bundnaturschutz.

A mammoth task that leaves its mark on the landscape.

For example, when wind turbines can be seen from a distance.

There are plans for this in the Munich area not only in Forstenrieder Park: In the spring, an engineering office was commissioned to examine the area west of Krailling for possible locations.

The population voted for the wind power project in the Ebersberger Forst in May, and wind energy has long been an issue in Hofoldinger Forst and Höhenkirchner Forst.

For the latter, an appraisal showed costs of around 20 million euros for three rotors.
