Mexico City-SANA
The US Hurricane Center announced today that the strength of Hurricane Pamela is strengthening along the coast of Mexico, with winds of up to 130 kilometers per hour.
"The epicenter of Hurricane Pamela is located about 455 km southwest of Mazatlan and is moving north at maximum speed," the Associated Press quoted the center as saying, warning that the typhoon could cause flooding and serious damage.
Mexico's National Water Commission warned yesterday that Pamela could become a Category 3 hurricane before it reaches land on the Saffir-Simpson scale of intensity, which includes five categories.
