No more inclusive writing.

According to information from

In an internal note of October 4 on the "

good use of French

", the community specifies that "

it is important to write in French, intelligible by all, and therefore to definitively ban the so-called inclusive writing whose typographic anarchy ignores the rules of French spelling and syntax

”.

The note also specifies that inclusive writing creates "

an additional barrier to a large number of people with disabilities

."

There will therefore no longer be any “

directors

” or “

territorial engineers

” in the documents produced by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

A writing in which "intellectual dictatorship and Wokism are mixed up"

Contacted by

Le Figaro

, Laurent Wauquiez explains that this decision follows “

drifts

” noted in certain administrative documents in the region. “

I am against inclusive writing, it's ugly, it disfigures the French language and destroys words. As long as I am president of this region, I will not let this writing carry a vision in which intellectual dictatorship and Wokism are entangled,

”he justifies.

According to him, this spelling responds to a "

political will

".

The French language is flexible, it offers its full place for the feminization of words.

There is no need to constantly have recourse to kinds of scars, of dismemberment of what is the French intellectual tradition

”, estimates the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

The left has embraced inclusive writing

A decision that goes against a trend initiated by many political figures on the left. After his election at the head of the city of Lyon, the ecological mayor Grégory Doucet for example made vote by his municipal council the adoption of the inclusive writing for the communication of the municipality, with the ambition to "

fight in favor of gender equality

”.

In addition, many left-wing political parties have already adopted this form of writing in their communications.

From the rebels to the Greens through the Socialist Party or “Génération.s”, all believe that it helps to fight against stereotypes.

“Language is the echo of the society in which we live, it is a living material, in perpetual evolution.

We no longer want, when a woman reads a text, she cannot identify herself, ”

moreover recently argued Sandra Regol, deputy national secretary of Europe Ecology-The Greens, to Le

Figaro

.
