Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari called on the member states of the Non-Aligned Movement to unite their efforts to address the crises afflicting the world and work to thwart the threats of unilateralism at the international level.
The Iranian news agency "IRNA" quoted Safari as saying during the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held in the Serbian capital Belgrade, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the movement's inception, that "collective efforts must be combined to prove that the global pluralist system is not only the most appropriate option, but rather constitutes the only practical way to address crises." that is happening in the world today,” recalling that the primary goal of the formation of the Non-Aligned Movement is to reform the global system and preserve the identity of independent states.
With regard to the Iranian nuclear agreement, Safari reiterated that former US President Donald Trump's unilateral and illegal withdrawal from the agreement and the failure of European countries to achieve agreed economic interests are among the most important reasons for the failure to implement this agreement so far.
On the Palestinian issue, Safri warned of the repercussions of continuing the policy of random and unbridled support for the Zionist apartheid regime and the violation of the basic rights of the Palestinian people, which will increase the escalation in the region.
In another context, Safari said that the Corona pandemic, which affected all countries, is one of the difficult choices for global solidarity and requires consistent and resolute international measures for all countries to obtain medical and treatment services against this epidemic.
