Today, the Iranian forces began specialized maneuvers entitled “Defenders of the Sky of Wilayat 1400” with the participation of elite units of the Air Defense Force, the Army Air Force and the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guards in the central desert region of the country.
The commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Joint Air Defense Headquarters in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Brigadier General Qader Rahimzadeh, said: "These maneuvers are taking place with the aim of improving the combat readiness of the units, enhancing the deterrence capacity and evaluating the national air defense systems to confront the various and intense threats, comprehensive defense and confront electronic and cyber warfare."
Rahimzadeh also stressed that one of the objectives of these maneuvers is to raise the level of knowledge and skill of the operational and technical cadres, intelligence briefing, and to exercise cooperation and coordination between the command and control centers of the Army and the Revolutionary Guards within the framework of the comprehensive air defense network in the country.
During the maneuvers, supposed medium-altitude hostile targets were eliminated by missiles fired from the “3 Khordad” system of the Revolutionary Guards’ Aerospace Force and the “15 Khordad” system of the Iranian army’s air defense force.
