At the official opening last Monday, Anja Winnes from

emphasized

that there had been many applications for the second kickstart round.

with his convincing concept and was therefore given preference over the other applicants.

The 45 year old Ifeanyi Christian Okolo comes from Nigeria and has lived in Germany for 25 years. With his often

larger than life sculptures made of wood or metal

, he is known far beyond the district boundary. "I am happy to have had the opportunity to show my works to the public," he said at the opening. He also emphasized that after almost two years of social distance, people long for closeness, hugging and exchange. That is why the three sculptures reflect these themes: “Embrace” in front of the music school shows a mother with her child, who are hugging each other and their arms merge.

With “Stand by me”, the second sculpture in front of the youth center, the young people in particular should be addressed.

It shows two young people who are looking for closeness to one another and who stand close together.

The third sculpture in the district court garden shows a woman and a man hugging each other tightly.

The sculptures can be seen until the end of October and can also be bought by interested parties.

Two people stand close together and seek mutual closeness!

That is the motto that the artist Ifeanyi Christian Okolo has chosen for his sculptures, which he is now presenting in three locations in Freising.

The artist made the sculptures in his workshop near Nandlstadt and come from local trees.

The funding was used to buy the wood and various materials, support workshop costs and, above all, pay for the transport costs for the installation.

The Freisinger Bank funds a total of thirteen different artistic projects with 15,000 euros, each project being funded with a maximum of 1,500 euros.
