Pyongyang-Sana
DPRK President Kim Jong Un stressed that the United States of America is the main cause of tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
"Pyongyang is increasing its military strength only for self-defense, not for starting a war," Kim was quoted by the DPRK's official news agency as saying in a speech at the defense development fair, noting that his country's development of weapons is self-defense in the face of the hostile policies of the United States and the military build-up. In South Korea that destabilizes the peninsula.
Kim added: We do not discuss war with anyone, but rather discuss preventing war itself in order to protect national sovereignty, pointing out that despite Washington's statements that it does not harbor any hostile feelings towards the DPRK, it is difficult to believe these assurances in the face of "its continued wrong judgments and actions."
Kim had earlier called on the United States to contribute to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the world by stopping its hostile policy toward Pyongyang and proving that it does not harbor hostile intentions toward it through actions rather than words, and stop adopting double standards.
