There was a festival atmosphere in Geretsried: Magic of Queen, Anett Louisan, Willy Astor and La Brass Banda played at the Kulturherbst.

Despite Corona, it was a success.

Geretsried - The bottom line is that he is "very satisfied", says Günter Wagner.

The musical director of the Geretsrieder Kulturherbst was in a good mood on Sunday afternoon, shortly before the last concert with Annett Louisan.

A bit broken (“I didn't go to bed before two or three o'clock”), but with his typical, hearty laugh during the conversation.

Geretsrieder Kulturherbst: Balance of the festival days - new edition in planning

According to the festival organizer, a pleasingly high number of tickets were sold for the fact that advance sales were interrupted for three months due to the uncertain Corona requirements.

The big top was full with LaBrassBanda, Herbert Pixner and the Spider Murphy Gang.

Other crowd pullers were The Magic of Queen and Konstantin Wecker.

Experience has shown that the plays and cabaret artists are never sold out, says Wagner.

"Towards the end it could have been a few more viewers," he admits.

Above all, Annett Louisan would have deserved it.

Despite Corona requirements: Festival in Geretsried successful

Ingrid Hammerschmied, who coordinated the work of the volunteer stewards and helpers and looked after the stars, was primarily responsible for the smooth running of the ten-day spectacle. If someone ordered two bottles of champagne after the performance, he got them. If vegetarians and vegans made special requests in the crew - no problem. For example, the Free State Theater of Bavaria had requested 28 music stands at short notice for the performance of the “Magic Flute”. It was a bit stressful at first, but after a few phone calls they were ready. “Inge does it great. She just knows everyone, ”Wagner praises his co-organizer. The guests appreciated this courteous atmosphere. As he took the stage, cabaret artist Christian Springer said,He seldom experienced such a “warm welcome” - and by that he did not mean the pleasant temperatures in the tent. Despite all the joy and positive response, Wagner expects that the minus of around 150,000 euros he has forecast in the city council will remain. The deficit for the last cultural autumn was around 108,000 euros.

The market went well - but there is little criticism of the city

Andrea Poloczek and her daughter Marie cannot complain about bad business.

They sold felt textiles, self-made headbands and bags at the colorful art market.

“From 6 p.m. on there was something going on every evening,” say the two women from Wolfratshausen.

Friederike Krüger from the stand next door added upcycling accessories that last Saturday was the best day of sales.

All three stall owners raved about the great and peaceful atmosphere at the Kulturherbst.

However, Krüger missed posters and references to the market, which in their opinion the city, as the organizer, should have taken care of.

The “Red Pavilion” was well filled with artists from the region and even less well-known artists before the main appearances in the large tent.

Andrea Weber, Vice-Chairwoman of the Isar-Loisach Cultural Association (KIL), is pleased that many young people came to the "Bonny Tones", for example.

The performances in the KIL pavilion did not cost any admission.

Weber believes that more could have been advertised for this, for example with announcements in the main tent.

Festival lives thanks to fellow countrymen: burgers and specialties are popular

The country teams also draw a positive balance. Their typical specialties at a low price were in demand with the visitors. One of the hits was the Hungarian Germans' Puszta burger, once created especially for the cultural autumn. “Everyone at the tavern was friendly, even if they had to wait a moment,” reports Klaus Weißbach, who tapped Traunstein beer fresh from the draft.

The staff at the Südsee-Bar was also very busy.

They all stood behind the counter on a voluntary basis evening after evening, just like the stewards and helpers on the square checked for a small allowance.

Michael Kling had taken extra leave to help out on five days - at the entrance, as a groundskeeper or sometimes while doing the dishes.

"If you want to get something from society, you have to get involved yourself," he says.

3G rule at the entrance: vaccinated, tested or recovered and then partying

Irene Blaich checked compliance with the 3G rule.

She carefully checked every vaccination certificate and corona test.

Hardly anyone complained that everyone was very disciplined, she says.

The employees of the Bavarian Red Cross can confirm this.

They swabbed the site for free, over 300 in total.

The service was very well received, they report.

Günter Wagner wants to catch up on sleep first, he says with a laugh.

Should the city ask him again - he would be ready to take over the organization of the next cultural autumn again.
