Why does the Ministry of Education hide the morbidity data in the education system?
The school year began on September 1, more than a month ago. However, despite the long time to prepare for it, the Ministry of Education does not publish the disease data. In the previous school year, under Education Minister Yoav Galant, the data was published daily and there was a snapshot. Regarding the number of sick and isolated students in each age group, as well as data on teaching staff. Occasionally, data on vaccinated students were also published. For a long time, the Ministry of Education has only published partial data, claiming that the data system has not yet completed an update.
Yesterday, after Israel Today's request, the Ministry of Education claimed that they would publish the data tomorrow: "Upon completion of the student situation, the ministry began publishing the disease data, and intends to continue publishing in an orderly manner."
In addition, at the request of Israel Today, the Ministry of Education published the percentage of students exempted from isolation in the various age groups, which shows that at the age of 12-18, about 73% of students are vaccinated or recovering, at the age of 6-12, about 26% of students are vaccinated or recovering. And in kindergartens (3-6) - 15% of children.
The Ministry of Education noted that the vaccination campaign in schools is ongoing.
To date, more than 22,000 students have been vaccinated in schools.
However, the Ministry of Education expects another challenge, if approved in Israel, which is the vaccination of children aged 5-11.
