The day nursery, which bears the name of St. Nicholas and thus the patron saint of the children, was officially inaugurated on Saturday in the Josefsheim in Wartenberg with great sympathy from church representatives, local politicians, specialists and parents.

Wartenberg

- General Manager Martin Hagner put the project of a day nursery in the broad context of the various activities of the Seraphisches Liebeswerk Foundation: "Integration is not only to be thought horizontally between children with and without special needs, but also vertically across the different age groups." he was on the topic of expanding the offer: in the crèche group, toddlers from nine months of age are looked after. “Our oldest resident is 23”, Hagner continued, “and it is amazingly well”.

Addressing the local politicians, he said: “Integration also means that we grow a little bit more into the Wartenberg market.” In total, there are almost 50 families with whom the offers deal on a daily basis. That was the keyword for Mayor Christian Pröbst. It is the moment to say thank you, for example to the market town council, which has placed its trust in its organization. Thanks also go to the parents who entrust the educators with the most valuable thing they have, namely the children.

Pröbst said: “It took a long time, it took a lot of discussions, but it turned out well.” He called the Josefsheim a “super strong partner”. The project had a good star right from the start, and it went quickly: On May 4, 2020, the first site visit with experts from the district office took place. “It looked really wild there.” On November 5, 2020, the building permit was there. 137,000 euros have been entered into the budget, and 90,000 euros have been called up to date. The final figures will only be available when all the final invoices are in. The mayor also announced: "We will start even more projects because Wartenberg will grow."

Pastor Gregor Bartkowski, who gave the blessing, admitted that he was “moved” by what had been created here.

Johann Erbetseder as chairman of the foundation's board brought their greetings.

Angelika Piechaczek is in charge, and she explained that twelve places had been created in the school's former workshop, six of which are currently still available.

At the same time, a large day care facility is set up for five children, and three places are occupied here.

The ceremony was musically framed by Andrea Pfanzelt (guitar), Nariman Bubbo and Sandra Angermaier (both vocals).
