Barkhane has started the transfer of its holdings to Kidal, in northern Mali.
The camp will be handed over to the forces of Minusma, the UN mission in the Sahel, within ten days.
A first step in the “reorganization” of the French military system will be taken.
"A last logistics convoy left Tuesday at 5 am
," explains Colonel Ianni, spokesman for the staff.
A Barkhane detachment will remain on site to carry out the administrative and logistical formalities. ”
The Minusma, which has 1,300 soldiers (Guineans and Chadians) on site, will then be able to use the land and infrastructure.
About a hundred French soldiers were installed there.
Barkhane will continue its “reinsurance” missions.
