With Arab and international participation, the first phase of the November Trail Cycling Race, which is held by the General Sports Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Lattakia Governorate, was launched today on the Lattakia-Aleppo New Highway axis.
A number of participants in the race expressed their happiness to be in Syria, a country of love and peace.
President of the Russian Cycling Federation Oleg Ripa explained that his country is participating with seven players and they are very happy to visit Syria and participate in the race in its second edition, pointing out that the race is a great indication of the return to normal life in Syria after long suffering from the terrorist war.
Sudanese rider Mohamed Dhaha said that he is participating for the first time in the race and will continue to do so in the races that will be held in the coming years, while Sudanese coach Ahmed Saleh expressed his love for Syria, praising the good organization.
The two contestants from Syria, Judy Al-Jabban, 15, and Hala Al-Zahr, 16, pointed out that the race was characterized by an atmosphere of love between the players, as it showed the beautiful face of our country.
In turn, Eng. Nidal Mashfaj, Assistant Minister of Tourism, stated that the race is an opportunity to explore the tourist areas in Lattakia countryside, pointing out that these activities confirm Syria's strength to organize events at the international level.
65 male and female competitors representing 10 male and 6 female teams from Sudan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, three Russian teams and the same Syrian will participate in the race.
