It should be "in the broadest sense an act of relationship," as the spokesman for the public prosecutor of the German press agency said. According to previous investigations, the man drove to the apartment of the 69-year-old mother of the acquaintances in the east of Neubrandenburg on Monday. There was a loud and violent argument there, as a result of which the 56-year-old German is said to have mistreated both women. After being beaten several times, he set the 33-year-old on fire and fled.

Neighbors heard the noise, took the eleven-month-old 33-year-old toddler out of the apartment and alerted rescuers.

The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire in the hallway of the apartment, it said.

The 69-year-old tenant and the toddler were injured in a clinic in Neubrandenburg.

The severely injured 33-year-old woman was brought to a special fire clinic in Berlin.

But you shouldn't be in mortal danger.

Injuries caused by blunt violence were also found in both women, it said.

The investigation led to the trail of the 56-year-old.

The detention request was for attempted murder because there was "base motivation" and it was a "cruel manner of killing," the spokesman said.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Interior Minister Torsten Renz (CDU) was stunned by the incident that affected a police officer.

"I wish the injured women a quick recovery," said Renz on Tuesday.

Now it is important to fully investigate the crime and - if the suspicion is confirmed - to initiate all necessary legal steps.

The Rostock police headquarters had initiated disciplinary measures and the man was prohibited from doing official business with immediate effect.
