The ailing railway operator Abellio Rail Baden-Württemberg GmbH has rejected assumptions about a possible sale.
Speculations about this and about the development of the Stuttgart network are premature, according to a letter to the employees from Monday, which the German press agency has received.
A decision will be sought for the end of November.
Stuttgart - According to Abellio, the negotiations with the state of Baden-Württemberg have no impact on driving operations.
Abellio also responded by writing to an interview by Transport Minister Winfried Hermann (Greens) with the daily newspaper "Badische Latest Nachrichten" last weekend.
According to Hermann, the Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehrs-AG (SWEG) could possibly take over the Abellio routes.
It was becoming apparent that Abellio no longer wanted to continue in the southwest at the agreed terms, the head of department had said.
Abellio, a subsidiary of the Dutch State Railways (Nederlandse Spoorwegen), is in financial difficulties and has been in protective shield proceedings since June.
This is a reorganization under bankruptcy law.

In North Rhine-Westphalia it is becoming apparent that the trains of the ailing railway company Abellio will be able to continue for the time being.
There was an agreement on the provisional continued operation, it was said on Friday in negotiating circles.
The committees of the transport associations involved would still have to give their approval.
A spokesman for the Zweckverband Nahverkehr Westfalen-Lippe (NWL) said that this will probably take place by the end of next week.
