In a fire on the environmental campus Birkenfeld, six people suffered smoke inhalation on Tuesday afternoon.
Two of them had to be taken to surrounding hospitals and treated as inpatients, as the Trier police department announced in the evening.
According to initial investigations, the fire came from a lithium battery while working in a workshop.
