With 820 students, the vocational school in Fürstenfeldbruck is back at the level before the corona pandemic - an interim result after starting school in times of a pandemic.
Fürstenfeldbruck - The school even recorded growth, especially in the electrical and IT sectors, as well as in the number of medical assistants.
However, the vocational school lacks teachers.
That is why there are two fewer classes this school year.
“That inevitably means larger classes,” says headmistress Andrea Reuss.
Nevertheless, she draws a positive conclusion from the first six weeks of the new school year.
Reuss is particularly satisfied with the new building that was inaugurated in July.
They have excellent facilities there.
The headmistress is particularly proud of the digital infrastructure.
“Each integrated specialist classroom is either equipped with PCs or can use mobile laptops.
If necessary, we can also teach the students from the classroom using webcams and microphones, ”explains Andrea Reuss.
In addition, there are enough laptops and tablets to borrow for students who do not have their own devices.
“Nevertheless, we hope that face-to-face teaching will remain, because there is no substitute for this,” says Reuss.
Preparation for the job
In preparation for the job, the school relies on career orientation projects and internships in order to be able to place the young people in an apprenticeship as quickly as possible.
There are again two vocational preparation classes that are also prepared for the qualification, three vocational preparation classes and four vocational integration classes.
In addition, two German classes were held in the initial reception facility for refugees at the air base.
