The date is fixed: In November, the Moosburg residents can vote on the future of ELA Container's expansion plans by means of a referendum.

Moosburg

- November 21st will be the day of the decision in Moosburg: After the unanimous decision of the city council, the referendum on the extension of the premises of the container company ELA near Pfrombach will be decided on Sunday in five weeks.

The town hall administration submitted the simple ballot paper to the city council on Monday, which only contains one question: "Are you in favor of stopping all municipal planning that serves to designate the 'Containerbau ELA' industrial park 'in Pfrombach?" There were no discussions in the council body within three months for the decision.

According to the legislation, an extension of the deadline, which began on September 15, would only be possible with the prospect of a compromise between the city council and the citizens' initiative on the issue.

Since this consensus is not in sight, the citizens now have to decide.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

According to the city administration, November 21st is the first possible date with sufficient advance notice.

Said Sunday was then proposed and decided unanimously by the committee.

Among other things, with a view to the employees from the administration and voluntary election workers, the Moosburg vote was to be carried out before the other options (November 28, December 5) so as not to collide with the dates of the Advent season.

Letters without postage

During the debate, Rudolf Heinz (CSU) only asked whether documents for postal voting would be franked automatically.

Managing director Josef Mühlberger said that franking was hardly needed because most citizens would drop their envelopes directly in the town hall's mailbox.

Experience from previous votes has clearly shown that the post is hardly used.

Johannes Becher (Greens) appealed to the administration, however, that even letters without sufficient franking "in the interests of democracy" should achieve the goal.

Every completed voting slip, regardless of what is ticked, should be counted.
