The exploratory talks on the formation of a government in Berlin continued on Tuesday in another three-way format. The negotiators of the Social Democrats, the Greens and the Left met in the SPD regional office. The three parties have ruled together since 2016. On Monday, the SPD, the Greens and the FDP had sounded out in threes. The conversation lasted seven and a half hours, and no results were subsequently disclosed.
Berlin - Last Friday, the SPD state chairman and mayor-designate Franziska Giffey announced that her party wanted to continue exploring the two three-way formats after numerous bilateral talks.
At the same time, she had made it clear that she had a preference for a traffic light coalition with the Greens and the FDP.
The Greens, on the other hand, are in favor of a continuation of the previous three-party coalition with the SPD and the Left.
