The SPD, the Greens and the Left had a lot of need for discussion at their exploratory meeting for three on Tuesday.
Even after a good five and a half hours, the teams were still sitting together in the SPD state shop in Berlin-Wedding to sound out the chances of forming a joint government in the capital.
Before the conversation, there had been talk of five hours, just like before the first three-way meeting on Monday.
Berlin - The SPD, Greens and FDP had exchanged views for a total of around seven and a half hours.
It is still open which group of three will enter into coalition negotiations.
The SPD state chairman and mayor-designate Franziska Giffey said on Friday that her party had a preference for a coalition with the Greens and the FDP.
The Greens prefer a coalition with the SPD and the Left.
The three parties have been ruling together in Berlin since 2016.
The SPD won the election for the House of Representatives on September 26th.
