The Be'er Sheva District Court today (Tuesday) sentenced a 19-year-old resident of Segev Shalom to three years in prison after he stole a car and pushed out of it while driving a disabled woman with a severe physical disability.

Defendant was convicted based on his confession, as part of a plea deal, in an amended indictment attributing to him offenses of robbery and driving without a driver’s license.

According to the indictment, at the beginning of November last year, near midnight, the two complainants were traveling in their vehicle in Be'er Sheva.

They stopped near a gas station, on the side of the road and the man got out of the vehicle as he was driving, to pick up some object that was near the road.

The woman, who suffers from severe physical disabilities due to a medical condition, remained in the car.

The 19-year-old defendant, with a wide criminal record of drug cases, thefts and driving without a license, spotted the motor vehicle but did not notice the woman left in it.

The defendant got into the vehicle, started driving fast immediately and the frightened woman started yelling at the defendant to stop the vehicle and opened the car door.

Defendant in response stopped the vehicle and shoved the complainant who fell out of the vehicle into his hand.

The complainant, who as stated is unable to stand on her own, fell on the road while the accused continued his journey and fled the scene.

Defendant does not have and has never had a driver's license.

In doing so, it will be noted that the accused will not be deducted days when he was detained in this case, and he will want his cumulative imprisonment for one prison sentence and thus he will complete almost four years behind bars.
