Trial: Woman is said to have secretly killed newborn babies

A young woman reportedly hid her pregnancy and killed the baby shortly after it was born.

Now she has to answer in court for manslaughter.

Cologne - A 23-year-old is from today's Tuesday (9.30 a.m.) on charges of manslaughter of her baby in front of the Cologne district court.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the young woman gave birth to her daughter in the bathroom of her parents' apartment in Kerpen near Cologne in April 2021.

She kept the pregnancy a secret.

When the newborn made noises, the 23-year-old is said to have first hit the baby.

Then she suffocated the little girl with a bag over her head.

The process is scheduled for five days until October 21st.
