Weather forecast amazes even experts Jung - he makes you sit up and take notice with the December forecast

The temperatures are already quite cool at night and in the morning.

Weather expert Dominik Jung is now announcing the onset of winter - in October.

Munich - fog, icy wind, temperatures around freezing point - many people in Germany already rely on their winter equipment on their way to work.

In some places the windshield scrapers have to be activated due to the weather.

In particular, the nights and mornings are pretty cold for the current time of year.

In the middle of the week there will even be an onset of winter with a lot of snow, as weather expert Dominik Jung reports.

. A cold front is currently pushing its way between two highs. This clears the way not only for changeable but also very cool weather. Heavy rains are not to be expected this week. "Overall, the amount of precipitation until Friday is very limited," said Jung.

According to the weather expert, however, there are exceptions: the edge of the Alps and the Alps themselves. "There are 20 to 30 millimeters in there," says Jung.

“Part of it falls as snow and therefore it will turn white in the Alps from Tuesday to Wednesday,” the meteorologist continues.

Ten to 20 centimeters of fresh snow are then possible in the high altitudes.

From Thursday on, the "golden October" will come back towards the weekend and it will be nicer again.

But it doesn't stay that way for long, as Jung explains.

“For the last third of the month, the US weather model always reckons with a new onset of winter.

Then even snowflakes down to the depths would be possible ”, so the prognosis.

It is a "really very exciting development of the weather," says the expert.

Sometimes the onset of winter appears in the weather models, sometimes not.

In any case, Jung has one important piece of advice ready: "It is high time for the winter tires."

According to the forecasts, it could be really cold in December.

"Some of the weather models expect the first meteorological winter month to be too cold," explains Jung.

"That could be the coldest December since 2010."
