The Corona months were a particular challenge for neighborhood help.

A lot has changed in the Citizens for Citizens Association - including the board of directors.

Wolfratshausen - For 31 years the association “Citizens for Citizens” (BfB) has followed its motto of providing quick and unbureaucratic help if necessary.

After the long-time chairman Peter Lobenstein resigned his office at the end of last year, the members recently had to decide at the annual meeting in the Loisachhalle about the appointment of new members to the board.

Wolfratshausen: "Association is irreplaceable" New board for neighborhood help

Eva-Maria Rühling was unanimously chosen by acclamation.

She receives support from the second chairman Ernst Wieser, secretary Daniela Satzinger and treasurer Volkmar Böll.

“The past two years have been a special challenge for all of us,” summarized Lobenstein.

In his statement of accounts, the outgoing chairman thanked the many volunteers for their tireless efforts.

The association, which now has around 1350 members, includes the departments asylum helpers, babysitting service, pre-kindergarten, children's park, children's things bazaar, mother-child meeting, leisure exchange, senior citizen assistance, repair café and senior citizens' meeting.

Citizens for citizens: Nothing came of the move - neighborhood help is looking for rooms

The wish for a new home for the neighborhood help does not come true for the time being.

"We were in conversation with the Maro building cooperative, which took over the former hospital on Sauerlacher Strasse in order to renovate it and build another building on the property," reported Lobenstein.

Since the structural requirements did not meet the needs of the association, the volunteers continue to use the rooms of the old pump house on the Loisachufer, which was actually only intended as a temporary solution.

Lobenstein new in the city council - successor has already been incorporated

Because Peter Lobenstein was elected to the city council in March 2020, he resigned.

His successor Eva-Maria Rühling reported many changes.

In cooperation with the computer seniors Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Seniorenhilfe offered PC, tablet and mobile phone courses for older people for the first time at the beginning of 2020.

Due to the corona pandemic, this offer had to be discontinued for the time being.

In 2021, BfB campaigned, among other things, for the vaccination of seniors and the establishment of corona test stations.

Wolfratshausen: neighborhood help needs funding

Despite generous donations from companies and private individuals, the Neighborhood Aid would like to receive funding from the city.

"We need permanent employees for certain tasks: the danger that individuals will despair and give up over the long term because of the abundance of their tasks is growing ever greater," warned Rühling.

According to the reports of the department heads, she presented flowers to Ingrid and Peter Schöbel, who have been involved in helping the elderly for 28 years.

Founding member Dietlind Diepen also received an award.

The former FDP city councilor requested an increase in the annual membership fee from 12 to 24 euros.

Diepen: "This association holds the social fabric together and is irreplaceable." The application can only be voted on at the next general meeting at the earliest.
