This week, Israel's Mental Health Awareness Week is celebrated, led by the "Wings - Doing Art" association. For the first time, this week is marked by cultural and artistic events, with the goal, among other things, of combating the stigma that haunts about a quarter of a million soul contestants in Israel.

As part of the initiative, a variety of events will be held from October 10 in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem with the participation of "Wings - Doing Art" artists and alongside them, leading artists and cultural figures in Israel who mobilized for the cause and all under the title "Going to Light".

The activity is made possible thanks to the support of leading bodies, including "Disneyhouse - Israel's Tourism Company", "Matan - Donors in the Community", Powercard, "Media Group - Hop" and more.

One of those events was a show "Behind the Mask", held at the Habima Theater and combined the ensemble of Wings Association actors with the "Aspemia" ensemble, led by actress and theater director Dalia Shimko. The show featured various works, which provided a glimpse into the unique and rich world of soul contestants and the way society sees them.

"For me it was a great privilege to pick up the gauntlet and do this show, because there is no more powerful, healing and connecting tool than art," Shimko explained before the screen went up. Veteran actress Esti Zakheim, who participated in the show and leads the acting workshop "In front of the camera", added: "Such an evening, where awareness is raised and the topic is discussed, is the basis. It is important to put things on the table, look at them and start treatment."

The association's director general, Eitan Ben Haim, expanded on the play: "What is special is the combination of the ensembles, because everyone is on the same stage and it is impossible to vote and say 'this is from here and this is from here', and that says it all.

Our performances were all taken from groups writing poetry and creative writing ours. "

Chairman of wings, dirt Chodorow, said:" We were greeted with open arms in the lottery and cooperation awesome. I believe that together we can encourage the art wings. The association believes in dealing with mental health through art " .
