In Degerndorf (Münsing) the parents' initiative is celebrating: It has pushed for the construction of a playground.

Now he has been initiated.

Part of the cost was paid by donors.

Münsing– The climbing tower is conquered immediately.

The older ones climb up the boulder wall, the smaller ones use a ramp and rope.

The suspension bridge that connects the tower with another one is fun because it wobbles so nicely.

The bird's nest swing hardly stands still either.

On Sunday morning, the new Degerndorfer playground was inaugurated with great sympathy from the village population.

It has been in use since the end of September.

"A real village project": children and parents alike enjoy the new playground

As reported, the building goes back to a parents' initiative.

Regina and Katharina Holzer founded a working group together with local councilor Simon Berger to put together the play equipment.

They are on the site of the former, smaller playground, right next to the new clubhouse between Schulstrasse and Dorfstrasse.

Softly bedded on wood chips and turf, children will find more swings, seesaws, a sandpit and - a special feature that many will envy - a small water feature for pumping and splashing around.

Mayor inaugurates playground: "Has always been part of Degerndorf"

“Even if the playground has always been part of Degerndorf, it is of course intended for families from all over the community,” said Mayor Michael Grasl in his speech during the opening ceremony.

The little ones from the neighboring Heinrich-Obermaier-Kindergarten are already eagerly using the new facility.

New playground in Münsing costs 80,000 euros - part of it is financed by donations.

The new meeting point in the heart of the village cost almost 80,000 euros. The initiators collected 27,000 euros of this from companies and private individuals. Numerous local businesses supported the construction with donated material and work - “a real village project, then,” says Regina Holzer happily. The devices come from the company SIK-Holzgestaltung from Niedergörsdorf, which was already used on the playground on Hartlweg. They are made of robust robinia wood from Germany.

Despite the corona pandemic and intermittent heavy rain, the facility was able to be completed in a relatively short time.

Town hall chief Grasl thanked in particular the building yard, represented by the manager Mario Kobstädt, and Josef Limm from the building authority.

Deacon Jörg Kornacker blessed the playground, supported by the youngest of his acolytes.

"Wherever children play, God is there and happy," he said.
