Within one day, the health authorities in Saarland registered 142 new corona infections.
No further deaths related to the virus were reported, according to data from the Berlin Robert Koch Institute on Wednesday (as of 3.11 a.m.).
The incidence, the number of new infections per 100,000 population within seven days, rose from 48.8 to 54.4.
Saarbrücken - Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 48,250 proven corona cases in the state, 1057 people died from or with the virus.
According to the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, 21 adult patients with Covid-19 disease were in the intensive care units of the Saarland hospitals, and 6 were ventilated (as of 7.15 a.m. on Wednesday).
