After a near accident in Lustheim, the free voters are demanding consequences.

The speed limit is to be further reduced and "play streets" are to be set up.

Lustheim

- FW councilor Stefan Vohburger only narrowly escaped the accident - actually only thanks to the fact that there was again too much going on in Lustheim. Because the streets in the tranquil district of Schleissheim were parked in many places, even in the curves, Vohburger was again forced to drive on the wrong side on that day. "Shortly before me, two girls suddenly came out onto the street with their scooters." The speed in Lustheim is limited to 30 km / h. If Vohburger hadn't driven half as fast on his own initiative, he would have put the children on the hood. "That was close," said Vohburger: "The girls and I got away with the horror!"

The situation, which Stefan Vohburger described to the municipal councils in the transport committee, underlines impressively: The traffic problems in Lustheim are precarious. Parked streets are like an obstacle course. Finding a parking space is a game of patience. You can also count yourself lucky to be able to reach the fire brigade or emergency doctor in an emergency. Just two weeks ago a resident of Lustheim had requested a second development for the district in the east of Oberschleißheim in order to get the problems caused by the regular visitor traffic to the castle under control. In the most recent meeting of the Transport Committee, the Free Voters followed suit. With the other parliamentary groups behind them, they obliged the town hall to limit the load on the streets in Lustheim and to reduce speed.

"I must have had a shock"

Every weekend, hosts of visitors flock to the Lustheim Palace and the park.

Lustheim is designed as a contemplative district.

Basically, one construction site is enough to turn the only driveway, Hochmuttinger Straße, into a slalom course.

Apparently people in Lustheim are no longer ready to come to terms with the situation.

A district is resisting.

Nowhere else in Oberschleißheim are the streets so tight.

And the number of residents is increasing.

This is especially true for young families with children.

Stefan Vohburger, the councilor who lives in Lustheim, used the debate in the transport committee to talk about his own experiences with congested streets.

His report culminated in the misfortune averted by a hair's breadth.

For minutes, he reported, Vohburger sat in the car with weak knees, unable to continue the journey.

In his mind's eye he saw the girls lying on the street, saw his father run out of the house screaming.

“I guess I was in shock,” he recalls.

In fact, the father thanked him for his careful driving.

Speed limit and play street required

Vohburger turned the man's thanks in the transport committee into an appeal to review the situation in Lustheim.

Vohburger doesn't just think of careless children who fall onto the street between parked cars.

In fact, he can not think of anyone who he wishes to have an emergency on his neck in a hurry.

Whether fire brigade or emergency doctor, yes, even the garbage disposal - they should all have problems getting to their destination.

The Free Voters are convinced that they can regulate the situation in Lustheim despite the streams of visitors and Corona leisure winners, and give the community a few suggestions: The speed should be reduced to at least 20 km / h, streets should be designated as "play streets".

That would be a start, said Vohburger.

So that dangerous situations like those with the two girls are never repeated again.
