The Directorate of Water Resources in Hama, in cooperation with an international organization, completed the rehabilitation of the Bisireen pumping station and its irrigation network, and put it into service, after an 11-year hiatus.
The Director of Water Resources in Hama, Engineer Tawfiq Saleh, explained to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the introduction of this station into service contributes to achieving stability in pumping water from the main canal of the Homs-Hama irrigation network, Hama Division, to agricultural lands where irrigation water does not reach comfortably from the main canal due to its height difference from the level of The main channel, indicating that this station, which took two months to rehabilitate, irrigates an area of 308 hectares.
Saleh pointed out that after the completion of the irrigation season, we started to carry out maintenance work for water facilities, including dams and irrigation networks, in preparation for the upcoming rainy season. Release of a quantity of water in the irrigation networks allocated to the farmers of the sugar beet crop in the Al-Ghab area.
