Because of the repair of water damage, the Kochler Kinoverein had to postpone the restart after the Corona break.

Those in charge hope that things will start again in mid-October.

Kochel am See

- Actually, the films should be back on the screen in the Kochler Kino in September.

"Unfortunately, water damage thwarted our plans," reports Stefan Bauer, the new chairman of the Kochler Kinoverein.

In mid-August it was discovered that there was a leak on the roof causing water to enter a wall in the screening room.

“Now Rigips panels have to be replaced,” says Bauer.

This is happening these days.

Claims settlement is handled by the municipality that owns the home theater.

“Walchensee forever” will start again on October 21st

Bauer hopes that it will be possible to start showing films again in calendar week 42 (from October 18).

"Provided that the craftsmen do not find further damage in the coming days."

The association members are in the starting blocks, because after all, the national launch of the multi-award-winning film "Walchensee forever" is also to take place in Kochel on October 21st.

The start of the film, which was on everyone's lips before the outbreak of the pandemic, had to be postponed again and again due to Corona.

In the film, director Janna Ji Wonders documents the story of her family at Café Bucherer from the perspective of women.

The focus is on their partly tragic life story.

Most people will remember Norma Werner, the long-time landlady who died in 2016 at the age of 104.

There is a program again seven days a week

If the film had started regularly in Kochel in 2020, there would have been a discussion with Janna Ji Wonders, reports Bauer.

Now, due to the development of the pandemic, no date has yet been set, but Bauer hopes “that we can do that at some point”.

After the restart, the club plans to show the program again seven days a week.

Bauer cannot yet say which films are coming: “We also have to see what we get.” One wish is to be able to show the new Eberhofer crime thriller “Kaiserschmarrndrama”.

"Bavarian comedies continue to attract audiences," says the chairman.

The cinema-goers will then find out the current program at short notice on the website www.kinoinkochel.de.

3G or 3G plus?

That is still being discussed

And under what conditions will you be able to visit the Kochler Kino?

So only as a vaccinated or recovered person (2G rule) or also as a person tested with a PCR test (3G plus rule)?

"We are still discussing in the board here," says board member Stefan Bauer.

A solution had to be found that was most practical for the volunteer demonstrators.

"Because they also have to carry out the controls."
