Baierbrunn

- How exactly the British stick incendiary bomb landed at this point in the forest is not clear.

“We had the impression that the bomb was brought there,” says Arthur Weber, equipment manager at the Baierbrunn fire brigade.

A mushroom collector alerted the Baierbrunn fire brigade at 3:52 p.m. on Saturday, October 9th.

He had discovered the British stick incendiary bomb from WWII off the beaten track, and luckily he had done the right thing.

According to Weber, the bomb could have gone up in the air.

"Somebody has already tried to ignite"

The fire brigade secured the site until a special police unit arrived.

This could eliminate the ordnance.

According to the fire brigade and police, the location was not identical to the original drop location.

"Somebody has probably tried to ignite it," says Weber.

The fire brigade's request: If you find such a metal part / object, you should not touch it under any circumstances.

If possible, take a photo of the object and report it to the police / fire brigade immediately.
