In a cultural meeting that brought together the Russian Ambassador Alexander Yefimov, the President of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad al-Hourani, and members of the Executive Office of the Russian Embassy in Damascus, a proposal was made to build cultural relations between the Russian Writers Union and the Union of Arab Writers in Syria in order to enhance the culture and the relationship of the two countries.
Dr. Al-Hourani pointed out the importance of cooperation and the Russian role in supporting the Syrian people and the importance of activating cultural cooperation that consolidates all relations, pointing to Russia's role in supporting Syrian steadfastness to defeat terrorism, in addition to the decision to print a book by an important Russian writer in the Arab Writers Union.
The Russian Ambassador, Yevov Dr. Hourani, and members of the Executive Office exchanged cultural visions and the need for openness, cooperation, and activating culture between Russian and Syrian writers, indicating that he will have a close meeting with Syrian writers and seeks to activate the role of writers between the two countries.
The cultural meeting was also attended by writers and poets Tawfiq Ahmed, Riyad Tabra, Al-Arqam Al-Zoubi, Dr. Jihad Bekfaloni and Ayyad Eid.
