The market for the automated carpet factory in As-Suwayda produced about 3,754 square meters of its production during the third quarter of this year, with a value of more than 135 million pounds, while its production in the same period amounted to 884 square meters per work shift.
The director of the plant, Hamad Al-Shoufi, told SANA Economic Center that work is progressing at an acceptable pace thanks to the efforts exerted by the working, technical and administrative cadres, despite the difficulties represented by the old looms, their frequent breakdowns, and the lack of manpower.
Al-Shoufi indicated that the complementary incentives offered to the workers reflected positively on production, pointing out that the necessary efforts were made to help the factory by bringing in the modern loom and its complements, and working on contracting with quality professional labor.
The automated carpet factory in Sweida was a market during the first half of this year, with an amount of about 7,762 square meters of production, worth about 263 million pounds, while its production amounted to 11,116 square meters.
