China renewed its categorical rejection of US interference in its internal affairs, stressing that the issue of establishing diplomatic relations between Washington and Taiwan is just an illusion.
"The Taiwan issue is China's internal affairs, and it is the main and most sensitive issue in Sino-US relations," Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, was quoted by Xinhua as saying.
Ma Xiao called on the United States to abide by its commitments regarding Taiwan and refrain from sending false signals or even providing support to the forces seeking so-called "Taiwan independence" so as not to further damage Sino-US relations and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
Referring to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's statements on cooperation and exchanges between Japan and Taiwan, Ma Xiao reiterated China's opposition to any form of official relations between China's Taiwan region and countries that have diplomatic relations with China, expressing his hope that the Japanese government will abide by the principles of the four political documents. between China and Japan and appropriately deal with Taiwan-related issues.”
And China warned the United States last September against any attempt to develop its relations with Taiwan or participate in any official interactions with it.
