A collision with a railcar in Tangermünde (Stendal district) resulted in an economic total loss of a car.
The driver of the car had overlooked the approaching railcar at an unsecured level crossing on Monday, as the federal police announced on Tuesday.
Despite the emergency braking, the train only came to a standstill after almost 40 meters.
