Construction marathon on the A99: weeks of construction work become a test of patience for drivers

District - More cars, more lanes: In order to cope with the increasing volume of traffic on the A99, the motorway is currently being expanded from six to eight lanes.

In the coming weeks there is a real construction site marathon on the section between Aschheim and Kirchheim.

An overview.

The kick-off will take place next Friday at the motorway junction in Kirchheim.

From October 15 to 18, traffic will be transferred from State Road 2082 to the newly built temporary bridge.

As reported by the leading Autobahn GmbH Südbayern, only three instead of the usual four lanes are available due to the limited space on the temporary bridge.

This shortens the threading strip in the direction of Aschheim.

Complete closure of the A99: excavation of a sign gantry

On October 24th, the A 99 will be completely closed from midnight to 3 a.m. in the direction of Salzburg at the Aschheim / Ismaning junction so that a bridge of signs can be lifted.

The traffic is directed via the eastern bypass road to the Kirchheim junction.

In preparation, the Aschheim-West car park will be closed from Friday afternoon, October 22, to Sunday, October 24, 5 a.m.

Construction work on the A99: closure of the motorway bridge

The “Erdinger Straße” motorway bridge between Aschheim and Kirchheim will be closed to motorized traffic from Thursday, October 28th, around midnight.

The diversion takes place via the Kirchheim junction to the south.

Pedestrians and cyclists can still use the bridge.

A temporary bridge is currently being built next to the old bridge, which pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use in the next few weeks - in good time before the old bridge is demolished.

The bridge over the A 99 motorway will be closed to motorized traffic until the beginning of 2023.

Construction work on the A99: Preparations for the demolition of the bridge

In November, supports for the bridge to be demolished are installed at the Kirchheim motorway junction.

According to the Autobahn GmbH Südbayern, traffic can continue to flow on the autobahn during construction work.

Ramps will be closed at the Kirchheim junction - traffic will be routed locally via the roundabout at the entrance to Kirchheim and via the Aschheim industrial park.

The diversions are signposted.

Construction work on the A99: Demolition of the "Erdinger Straße" bridge

Weekend 12./13./14.

November the bridge "Erdinger Straße" between Aschheim and Kirchheim is demolished.

The lane below is partially closed.

The Autobahn GmbH announces that traffic is directed to the opposite lane.

Due to the traffic routing, the Kirchheim junction may be partially closed.

The diversions via the Aschheim / Ismaning junction are signposted.

Construction work on the A99: Bridge demolition near Kirchheim

Last but not least, the bridge at the Kirchheim junction will be demolished on weekends 19/20/21.
