It's a unique opportunity: building in Freising as part of a cooperative.

That arouses enormous interest.

Now there was a first meeting.

Freising

- building and living in the Freisinger Steinpark is to have the character of a beacon in the future with a cooperative project that includes up to 85 apartments.

The first on-site networking meeting took place on Saturday morning.

There is quite a lot of interest in cooperative building in the cathedral city: around 60 citizens gathered to hear the first ideas on how something like this could best be put into place.

Citizens can take the helm themselves

This first appointment serves to get to know each other and to activate the first networking between those interested, explained city architect Barbara Schelle. This cooperative idea shows two possibilities: either to found your own cooperative or to join an existing cooperative. "This is where you come in: take the chance to organize yourself!" Emphasized Katharina Winter from the planning officestattbau München GmbH, which is accompanying the process. In their opinion, the advantage of a group founding its own cooperative is: “You take the reins into your own hands.” However, the effort should not be underestimated here. It is definitely easier to join an existing, preferably regional, cooperative. It would have to be seenwhich cooperative would best suit your own ideas.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

For example, the FreiSam group, which was founded in the summer of 2021, is looking for partners for a cooperative project in Freising.

Your spokesman Stefan Hotop put it this way: “In contrast to random neighborhoods, we want a social network.” Among other things, plans for such residential complexes include shared use, maintenance and ownership of objects and spaces - among other things, the group's co-working spaces are floating , Guest rooms, workshops or communal gardens.

Motto: Simply build without excessive technology

The buildings are to be built using a sustainable and long-lasting construction method, the motto for this being: “Simple construction without excessive technology, but with a high quality of stay”.

The FreiSam group currently has 25 active members who, according to Hotop, are in lively exchange with one another.

"We would also like to be part of this," emphasized Robert Hauner from the Freising Housing Cooperative Goldberg eG.

Hauner reported that it has been successfully active in the cathedral city for over 100 years and has a membership of over 600 citizens.

As a cooperation partner, Goldberg would definitely like to help the city of Freising advance in the cause of inexpensive living.

City architect Barbara Schelle: Network!

“Take advantage of the opportunity and network yourself!”, Addressed the city master builder Schelle to the citizens.

Because under certain circumstances the city would later “throw in the ring” if the cooperative living project is very popular.

At the beginning of next year, the properties in the Steinpark are to be put out to tender; the best of the concepts presented will be awarded the contract in 2022 - regardless of whether you are setting up your own cooperative or following an existing one.
