In view of the comparatively low number of new corona infections, the corona rules have been relaxed in Brandenburg, especially with regard to the obligation to test.

But only citizens and entrepreneurs in a few regions can benefit from this.

Potsdam - With the new Corona rules in Brandenburg, unvaccinated citizens in three districts no longer need tests for visiting restaurants, hotels, theaters or swimming pools.

Since Wednesday, this mandatory test has only been in effect from a seven-day incidence of 35.

The districts of Havelland (30.4), Potsdam-Mittelmark (33.5) and the Uckermark with the lowest nationwide value of 16.9 were below this value. If the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants falls below the threshold of 35 in a week, no test is necessary. The test obligation was previously valid from a value of 20.

The maximum number of visitors for compulsory testing or corresponding evidence at open-air events such as folk festivals, fairs and concerts has risen from 500 to 1000.

The red-black-green state government wants to enable the organizers to operate economically because of the control effort.

The 2G rule, according to which vaccinated and convalescent people can dispense with distance rules and mask requirements, is being extended by restaurants, hotels and clubs to include lessons in vocal and wind instruments.

Modernization of accommodation: 28 million euros approved

In the wake of the corona pandemic, the state government approved more than 28 million euros for the modernization of accommodation facilities.

During the corona pandemic, companies often had recourse to reserves for current expenses, said Minister of Economic Affairs Harry Glawe (CDU) on Monday.

"So that investments do not fail due to a lack of reserves, the state has launched the modernization subsidy."

Long-Covid among hospital staff increases the lack of care

According to the professional association accident clinics, the long-term consequences of a corona infection exacerbate the lack of care.

Nationwide, there are well over 100,000 applications for recognition as an occupational disease by hospital staff with the insurance carriers, said Christoph Reimertz of the German Press Agency.

He is the chief physician of the rehabilitation center at the BG Unfallklinik Frankfurt and scientific director of a conference of all BG clinics in Germany on 23.

The nationwide seven-day incidence rose to 50.5.

With 115.6, Prignitz is the only district above the threshold of 100. Within a day, the health authorities reported 276 new cases, a little more than a week ago.

Meanwhile, Brandenburg's Minister of Health Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) has called on Covid-19 patients with long-term complaints (Long Covid or Post Covid) to take advantage of rehab treatments. "We want to educate and make the offers better known, because often those affected do not even know that they can take advantage of rehab services," said Nonnemacher. General practitioners should also pay more attention to this for their patients, she emphasized.

For this purpose, the ministry has activated a website on which, in addition to information on long-term illnesses, the twelve inpatient clinics that offer post-Covid treatment are listed.

"Deutsche Rentenversicherung has signaled to us that it has great interest in seeing more people with long-term Covid applications submit applications for rehab," said the responsible head of department in the ministry, Jouleen Gruhn.

According to estimates by the World Health Organization, around ten percent of those suffering from Covid-19 are affected by long-term effects, said Nonnemacher.

That would be more than 11,000 people in Brandenburg.

However, not in all cases the complaints are so serious that rehab is necessary, restricted senior physician Annette Twietmeyer from the Sana Rehabilitation Clinic Sommerfeld in Kremmen (Oberhavel).

This can only be assessed by the attending physician.

Long-term effects included fatigue, difficulty concentrating, breathing difficulties and decreased exercise capacity.
